Welcome to the Lamar CISD Interact Cafe! Our goal is to create a landing pad for new ideas, lessons, and trends involving technology. We want to help you take your everyday classroom and life a step forward into the future. We hope this serves as a place you will want to visit for fresh perspectives on using technology, a thorough consortium of cheat sheets and resources to help you learn new products and hardware, and really, a place to come and be challenged and encouraged about using technology in your school!
So what can you find here? Well…LOTS!
Our Blog section will be regularly updated by members of our technology team with fresh ideas and methods of how to use technology in your classroom. Some might be focused on broad, overarching ideas that work in any classroom; whereas, others may be very specific to a content area or grade level. No matter what the type though, they will always be fantastic ideas that can take your curriculum to a new level!
The Resources section is our holding ground for sample lessons, technology cheat sheets, how-to’s, and video examples. Read a blog entry about Geocaching? Why not visit the resources section and pull down a lesson you can use with geocaching…tomorrow…in your class! Want to start editing movies? Go grab one of our cheat sheets on how to use MovieMaker! The resources section is designed to make your time with technology so easy and fun, that you won’t be able to wait till the next opportunity to move even farther!
One of the most important elements we push as a team is growing professionally, to always be learning, and then sharing that knowledge with others, and that’s what our Presentations section is all about. As we present the newest ideas and methods available in technology and education, we will be posting our presentations to that section, so our reach will always go beyond just the room in which we spoke.
By this point, you are probably wondering who we are…well…fortunately we have an “About Us” section! Check out who we are as a district as well as all the brilliant educators that make up our technology team! Each of us brings a different skill set to the table that makes us one of the forefront districts at integrating technology into the curriculum and classroom.
