About: Dan’s entire life has been spent working with young people of all ages. His official teaching career began in 2007 as a 6th grade Science teacher in Lamar CISD. No two years were alike as he constantly sought to improve lessons using technology and high yield instructional strategies. After earning a Master’s degree in Educational Technology and Leadership in 2014, Dan began pursuing professional opportunities beyond the classroom.
In early 2015, Dan began to extend his passion for instructional change as a Campus Instructional Technology Specialist for Lamar CISD. The ever-evolving nature of instructional tools and student needs has helped to keep his love of learning fresh, and has invigorated him to evoke instructional change among administrators and teachers on behalf of students. Dan strives to impart the importance of 21st century skill sets to teachers and administrators, as these skills will help to empower students in becoming successful in our modern world.
At home, Dan enjoys watching football, especially when it involves cheering for (or screaming at) the Texans. In his free time, Dan likes to catch up on sports news, smoke…BBQ, read motivational books, watch TV, and spend time with his children, friends and family.
